On Saturday 7th June Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service hosted the Welsh Firefighters Challenge at Dylan Thomas Square, in the heart of Swansea. Last year’s event, held at the same location, was a resounding success and the team have delivered another outstanding event. Teams from all over the United Kingdom and Europe took part in the event which is an integral part of the British Firefighter Challenge series and serves to promote physical fitness, wellbeing and teamwork. Once again, this year’s event was attended by a number of partner agencies including Swansea City Council, Guide Dogs for the Blind, GoSafe Cymru, Red Cross, MWWFRS Community Safety and local Voluntary Groups. The event raised vital funds for The Firefighters Charity who provide a range of health and wellbeing services for serving and retired members of the Fire & Rescue Service community.
